The TWRA manages several state refuges and WMAs including Black Bayou Refuge. Black Bayou is located on the west side of the lake and has parking and an observation tower for viewing waterfowl and deer. TWRA is also primarily responsible for managing Reelfoot Lake WMA and most of the public boat ramps that access the lake.
TWRA also manages several refuges and WMAs near Reelfoot including Gooch WMA, Hop-In Refuge, and Obion River WMAs in Obion and Weakley Counties as well as Tigrett WMA, Ernice Rice WMA and Moss Island Refuge in Dyer County.
